The PLANET FGSW-2402VS offers 24 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet ports with 2 open slots (port25, 26). The two open slots can be installed by optionally two of 10/100Base-TX port, 1000Base-T port, 100Base-FX, or 1000Base-SX/LX fiber-optic interfaces. The distance can be extended from 100 meters (TP), 2 kilometers (Multi-mode, ST or SC), up to 15 kilometers (Single-mode, SC).

Equipped with non-blocking 8.8Gbps backplane greatly simplifies the tasks of upgrading your LAN to cater for increased bandwidth demands.

For efficient management, the FGSW-2402VS Web Smart Switch is equipped with console and Web interface. The FGSW-2402VS Web Smart Switch can be programmed for basic switch management functions such as port speed configuration, Port Trunking, VLAN, Port Mirroring, QoS, bandwidth control, and Misc Configuration.

The FGSW-2402VS provides port-based VLAN (including overlapping). The VLAN groups allowed on the FGSW-2402VS will be maximally up to 26 for port-based VLAN. Via supporting port trunking, the FGSW-2402VS allows the operation of a high-speed trunk combining multiple ports. The FGSW-2402VS provides seven groups of up to 4-ports for trunking, and it supports fail-over as well.

Workgroup Switch
With 24 10/100Mbps ports and up to 2 optional copper or fiber ports, the FGSW-2402VS provide a cost-effective, high-performance solution for power users.

Department Switch
With its 8.8 Gigabits per second, non-blocking switch fabric, the FGSW-2402VS can easily provide a local, high bandwidth, Fast Ethernet network for your departmental backbone. With the two open slots, the FGSW-2402VS provides the uplink to the backbone network through either Fast Ethernet fiber-optic or Gigabit Ethernet SX/LX modules.

MTU Switch
In an MTU/MDU application, the advanced functionality of the FGSW-2402VS eliminates traditional problems associated with Ethernet. Using the built-in VLAN functionality can segregate users. This coupled with the flexible fiber module options makes the FGSW-2402VS one of the best and most cost-effective switch solutions for multi-tenant service providers.
